Eyes barely open and the Mark of Life still bright upon his chest, I brought my son into the light of day so I could clearly see him. He squirmed in my paw, lightly kicking his tiny legs as though he wished to walk along beside me rather then be carried, already a fighter and, one day, a chief for our people.
My son, you are truly special, for not only are you my only child, but you are also the first to be born in our new home, your survival shall mean so much. Not only the symbol of strength in your blood and our people, but the health of our land, the blessings of All to our pack, and the start of a New Beginning.
Welcome to the World, my son.
